Darrell Sheffield

Darrell Sheffield

General Manager

Darrell Sheffield is the General Manager for Farmer Funeral Home & R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery. Darrell grew up in Kirbyville and started his funeral career mowing the lawn at the funeral home there during high school. Darrell began assisting with funeral services and the owner highly encouraged him to consider a career in the funeral business due to his caring nature and heart for serving others. He graduated from Commowealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston with a degree in funeral science in 1989. He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Darrell worked for 28 years for Klein Funeral Homes in the Houston area as the Area Manager over four funeral homes.


Darrell & his wife, Kari, are excited to be residents of Silsbee. They attend St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Silsbee. Darrell states “We are glad to be a part of this wonderful community and funeral home team that we have found to be very welcoming. My colleagues and I look forward to providing the most meaningful experience for those going through a loss just as the Farmer family ALWAYS did.”

Office Administrator

Tablau “Tab” Ferguson has been a member of the Farmer Funeral Home family since 2003. She was the office manager for many years and has been the Pre-Need Administrator since 2014. In 2017 she also took over as Adminstrator of R. S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery.


Tab and her husband Kenneth are longtime residents of Fred. They have two children and four grandchildren.


Tab is a “People” person and often says that talk is what she does best! She loves time spent with family and friends and attending grandchildren’s soccer and baseball games. Her favorite pastime is chilling out with some Oldies on the radio and a good book on her IPad. Tab is a graduate of Warren High School and a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church.

Family Service Counselor

Brandi Hare is our Family Service Counselor. She handles all Pre-Arrangement planning, monument sales and cemetery sales. Brandi has been a part of the Farmer Family since January of 2017.


Brandi grew up in the Silsbee area, and graduated from Silsbee High School in 1989. She and her husband Rob have two children, and four beautiful grandchildren. Going to the lake and spending quality time with family are the ways that Brandi enjoys to spend her free time.


Brandi and Rob are involved in the Hardin County Go Texan Scholarship Fund that benefits Hardin County youth.


Rhonda Tanton

Rhonda grew up and attended Kirbyville schools most of her life. She received her Nursing Assistant Certificate through Angelina College and worked at Buna Medical Center for over seven years. In 1999 she began working at Silsbee Oaks Healthcare where she currently serves as their Director of Activities.


She and her husband Bobby live in Silsbee. Rhonda has been associated with Farmer Funeral Home since 2017. Together they have six children and seventeen grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking (especially for special occasions), camping/fishing and watching her grandchildren play sports.

Receptionist

Essie Lee lives in Buna.  She was raised in Kirbyville and was a longtime resident of Silsbee before moving to Buna.  She is a board member of the Buna Public Library and is involved in many different civic organizations.  Essie is a member of the First Baptist Church of Buna. She also enjoys working with everyone at Farmer Funeral Home and loves her job!


Vicki Cavaretta

Visitation Attendant

Vicki has lived in Lumberton since 1998. She is originally from Painesville, Ohio. She has a daughter and seven fur babies, 5 dogs and 2 cats. She is an active member of Infant Jesus Catholic Church. She has worked as a Child Care Licensing Inspector for over 20 years. Serving the families at Farmer Funeral Home is another aspect of service close to her heart, treating each family as an extension of her own.


Jerry Griffin

Jerry Griffin has worked for Farmer’s for three years. He assists in services and visitations when needed. He was born and raised in Woodville where he graduated from Kirby High School. He is a graduate of Baylor University with an accounting degree. He lived in Jasper for 27 years before moving to Sour Lake and has resided there for the past 31 years.


Jerry and his wife Kaye enjoy spending time with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoys playing golf and hunting. Jerry loves visiting with his sisters in Woodville and Dallas and his brother in Conroe.

Geraldine grew up in Silsbee and graduated from Silsbee High School in 1987.  She graduated from Lamar Orange with a degree in Sociology. She has been married to her husband Phillip for 10 years, attends Freedom Fellowship.  She enjoys her 2 stepdaughters, 4 grandchildren, and one amazing dog named Dumas. Geraldine worked in various jobs in the past, but helping others is what her heart desires. " Becoming part of the Farmer Funeral Home family has been my best decision, I love people and helping others in need, We Love our God and put him first".


Ciera Morgan

Student/Funeral Assistant

Ciera is a Silsbee native, with a passion for baking, her sweet pup, Berrett, and her many friends and family. She comes to us with a degree in baking and pastry arts from LeNotre Culinary Institute, graduating top of her class. After, a whirlwind career with Disney and Universal Studios, Ciera felt the tug of service on her heart. She found her home with us in September 2021 and has since become a valuable asset to our team. Ciera is currently enrolled in the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Services, striving towards her second degree, and enjoys serving our community's families in their time of need. Often going above and beyond to ensure that families are comfortable and cared for during their time of grief.


Brent Ainsworth

Brent is a 1987 graduate of Tioga, High School in Tioga, Louisiana. He went on to earn an Associates Degree in Funeral Service from Commonwealth Institute in Houston, in 1995. He earned the distinguished designation of Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) in 2016, and is a member of The Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice.

Brent is a two-time Past Master of B.F. Quicksall Masonic Lodge #1370 in Beaumont, and is a plural member of Nederland Masonic Lodge #1368 in Nederland, and is also an El Mina Shriner. He spends his free time assisting abused and neglected animals and volunteering at The Humane Society of Southeast Texas. Other than reading, and being of service to others, his favorite pastime is being B-Paw to his grandchildren, and best friend to his 3 rescue dachshunds, Rosie, Lulu, and Harold Paul.
