After his retirement, Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, and he especially enjoyed spending time round dancing with his wife, Barbara. He was a great man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife of over 70 years, Barbara Coe Herbst; and parents, Howard and Murl Herbst.
