Cheryl Stutzenburg

Obituary of Cheryl Stutzenburg

Cheryl Ann Stutzenburg, age 68, passed away Wednesday May 30, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. She was born to H.A. Thomas and Mildred Faye Thomas on April 8, 1950 in Silsbee, Texas.

Cheryl was a devoted daughter to her parents, a loving mother to her children, and a beloved Maw Maw to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She devoted her life to her parents by caring for them.  She was the glue that held the family together and the household that you went to when you needed love and support. Cheryl was a good listener and told the truth whether you were prepared or not. Cheryl loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Spending time with them meant the world to her. Her presence was known when she was in a room and people would gravitate to her. Cheryl was an all-around great woman who would do anything for anyone, no questions asked. Cheryl was one who did not want to hear she couldn’t do something, because she would prove you wrong every time.  In her earlier years, she was a bookkeeper for her parent’s auto parts store, Thomas Auto Supply. She then held several other jobs, sometimes more than one, to provide for her family. She was a faithful servant and will be missed by all who love her but her legacy will continue with the next generation.

Preceding Cheryl in death are her parents, H.A. Thomas and Mildred Faye Thomas; her husband Bruce Stutzenburg; and brother Ronald Thomas.

Left to honor Cheryl’s memory is her son, Norman W. Nichols Jr. and wife, Lora, of Vidor, TX; daughters, Kristi Nichols of Silsbee, and Kimberly Anderson of Silsbee, TX; brother, Donald Thomas and wife, Dorothy, of Houston, TX; cousin, Lyndon Hallmark of Beaumont, TX; grandchildren Billy Nichols and wife, Bailey, of Evadale, TX, Lona Cook and husband, Aaron, of Liberty, TX, Daniel Whitmire and wife, Johnafay, of Silsbee, TX, Kaytlin Laurent, Casey Laurent, Brittany Laurent, Cody Laurent of Silsbee, TX; and 17
